midnight air
12/18/2020 in Poems
half past one, you weren’t in my arms
half naked, i was finding your warmth
half a heart, you said you are when I leave
halfway from the truth, still I believed.
downstairs, outside, in the middle of nowhere
i went and found you there, midnight air
no more step please stop right there
it’s cold, here’s my body you can wear.
i won’t leave so you can live
breathe through me, have coffee, have me
press yourself to me as if you mean it
just this time, i know you will.
lie with me, lie to me but I don’t mind
i’ll watch you get your clothes after midnight
you must be tired to keep on coming back
my door’s open i leave it unlocked.
